Privacy Policy
This page explains what we collect when you join the Kindsail waitlist, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not skimmed. [Kindsail legal entity name] (“Kindsail”, “we”) is the data controller.
What we collect
- Your email address (required to join the waitlist).
- Optional details you choose to add: company name, support team size and the support tool you use today.
- A referral code we generate for you, and the referral code of the person who invited you, if any.
- How you found us: UTM parameters and the referring page, when present.
- A hashed, salted version of your IP address, kept for up to 24 hours, used only to limit abuse of the signup form.
Why we collect it
- To keep your place on the waitlist and tell you when it is your turn.
- To send one confirmation email with your position and referral link.
- To understand which kinds of teams are interested, so we build the right thing first.
- To stop automated or abusive signups.
Legal basis
We process your email and optional details with your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist. We process technical data such as the hashed IP address under our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your record.
Where your data lives
Signups are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon. The website is hosted by Vercel. Confirmation emails are sent through Resend. Each of these providers processes data on our behalf under their own data processing terms.
If privacy-friendly analytics are enabled on this site, they do not use cookies and do not track you across sites.
Cookies
We set one functional cookie, ks_ref, for 30 days when you arrive through a referral link, so the person who invited you gets credit. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist records until Kindsail launches and for up to 12 months afterwards, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you. Email hello@kindsail.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
